Reports had emerged, including on Engadget, that some Droid X
A statement issued by Verizon Wireless on Tuesday and sent to CNET on Wednesday briefly describes the issue and course of action for affected owners:
"Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of Droid X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact Motorola
A Verizon Wireless representative also confirmed that any Droid X owner with the display problem will receive a replacement phone.
The Android-based Droid X, which hit Verizon and Best Buy stores last week, sells for $199.99 with a two-year contract.
